Bulova Proud New Yorker’s Series: Apollo
Project Summary
Point Studio filmed original interviews and utilized inherited footage to produce a video for Bulova’s Proud New Yorker series featuring the historic Apollo Theater.
For its 150th anniversary, Bulova celebrated resilient New Yorkers, past and present, who evoke the spirit of Joseph Bulova when he opened his watchmaking business in NYC in 1875. Point Studio filmed original interviews and utilized inherited footage to feature the historic Apollo Theatre, adding to the stories of passions and perseverance that help keep the New York dream alive.
The world-famous Apollo Theatre, "where stars are born, and legends are made" opened its doors in 1914 and has played a major role in the emergence of jazz, swing, bebop, R&B, gospel, blues, and soul — all quintessentially American music genres.
When Bulova celebrated its 150 anniversary by honoring other 'resilient New Yorkers', Point Studio filmed and produced a short film featuring the Apollo Theatre to include in this series.
